Anyone know how to print addresses on envelopes?
-
I'm trying to print the addresses on my wedding response envelopes using Microsoft Word or something similar but I can't seem to find an easy way to do it. The envelopes are not a standard size, so do I just change the margins? Just seems complicated. Would Kinko's or somewhere print them for me? Any help is appreciated!

Answer:
Usually there is a template you can create from the factory (based upon number) OR go to Microsoft Word's website and see if there are any on there.

In Microsoft Word XP (which is what I use) - "Tools" - "Letters & Mailings" - "Envelopes & Labels" Ensure the tab is on the "labels" section, and click - "Options" Select your type of label from the list and click - "OK" Type your text into the box provided and click - "New Document" You will then see a page filled with this address. I don't know how to get different addresses from the outset, but if you highlight each address and re-type a different one, it will still work Once you have a page of labels - "File" - "Print" If you have a printer with multiple trays, it's often easier to tell it to pick up from tray 1 (manual feed). So to do this, when the print box comes up, select - "Properties" - and change the paper source to whichever tray you want the printer to pick up from. Click - "OK" - and "Current Page" and run to your printer. Put a sheet of blank labels into the tray you've asked it to pick up from, making sure you put it in the right way (you may need to do a test print to find out whether you need to put the paper in head first, face up or face down). Click "print" You can now repeat this process for all of your labels. Since you're probably going to want to send another mail out (for thank you cards), it might be worth saving each sheet of labels for when you need them again. There's no point re-doing the work if you've already done it. Voila!
kinko's or anyone else will charge you alot for something that is not all that hard to do. What you do is to do a merge with mailing addresses as the source and envelopes as the output document. You can specify a non-standard / custom envelope or other paper size and type for that matter. That's why word and other apps come with a HELP feature?????
