Honeymoon in September?

  • I'm looking for a place to honeymoon in September. I've done a ton of research and right now Aruba is the top contender, but I'm looking for some cheaper options. I'm worried about hurricanes and rainy seasons, so anyway to avoid that would be great. Please Help!

It depends upon what sort of honeymoon you want. If you want something tropical & beach-y, you are honeymooning in hurricane season and pretty much anywhere you would want to go has the potential to be hit with a hurricane. If you are open to avoiding the beach, you will minimize your risk of hurricanes. I honeymooned in Maine in September and it was AMAZING. But parts of Maine were even affected this past year by the remnants of hurricanes. Another option would be to postpone your honeymoon so you take it outside of hurricane season.

A better option would be to do Austrailia, Fiji, etc, weather wise, but it won't be cheaper. Why not try the western coast of Mexico= it will still be hot, but out of the hurricane zone Also, think about Grenada, St. Lucia, etc.. they usually don't get the hurricanes as strong either..

Aruba sounds great! You know that it's not in the path of hurricanes so you're good there! Other ideas... Key West (or another key, like Islamorada, they have a hotel called The Moorings that's supposed to be great!) Quebec City or Montreal Charleston or Savannah Bermuda Jamaica (there is a hotel called the Rock House that sounds awesome!) Santa Fe San Diego (check out the Coronado hotel!!) Catalina Island Scottsdale, AZ I'm not sure of the weather in San Francisco, but that could be great! New York City Las Vegas Vermont Niagara Falls New Orleans Costa Rica or Nicaragua Don't forget if you go anywhere outside the US you need a passport :) I hope this helps! Congratulations, and have a great time!
