Is their away to save email cards?

How to word reply cards?

  • Ok, I know there's not much space on these, but I am trying to figureout how to word this.. To save on postage, my mom wants to offer alternative ways to RSVP, such as a phone number and an email address. If people choose to send the actual reply card back, they are responsivble for postage because we aren't attaching any to the envelopes (I'm sure most wouldn't send them back anyways and it's a waste if they don't). So, I'm trying to figure out how to word the reply cards with the other two options as well as the traditional "send the card back" type thing.. Any ideas??

I disagree with the person above me. I say put as many different means of replying as possible. Hardly anyone RSVP's anymore and so you will be stuck calling everyone when they don't come in. I would say something like... The favor of a reply is requested by (date). Please let us know if you will be joining us by contacting of the mother of the bride Jane Doe directly at (123) 456-7890 or via email at [email protected]. If you prefer using the post, please use this envelope to send your reply. (and make sure your address is on it) Also you might consider starting a free wedding website like www.mywedding.com and using it to allow guests to RSVP. It works great! I've had so many people use it and it organizes your guests into an excel spreadsheet and everything. You can also add guests yourself so it's complete. Then just add a line to your response card like. You can also RSVP at www.mywedding.com/johnlovesjane. Good luck!!!

MathNerd has it right. Most people today do so much online that they will reply via email long before they would go to 'all the trouble' to mail a reply card back. Plus it will save you on the postage. You may still have to call some people that don't bother, I don't think you can ever get everyone to reply on time.

actually almost everyone on our guest list R.S.V.P ed. WE sent out reply card with self addressed stamped envelopes (usually when you pre stamp and address them, people will r.s.v.p. but when you don't pre stamp some people put it to the side and then forget about it b/c they don't have any stamps at hand. (just a thought) you can send out a normal r.s.v.p wording. and then at the bottom you could put, r.s.v.ps also accepted by email and phone, and then put your email and phone number. BUt be warned. you are still going to have to track people down this way and you are going to have to be really organized with what you do with the information of who has r.s.v.ped by phone, email, etc with som many different ways to rsvp

This is an interesting question to me. I just received a wedding invitation with an email address and a phone number to RSVP to. I thought it was a little strange. Especially because the phone number wasn't the bride's or the groom's. Actually I don't know who I'm supposed to ask for when I call, because they didn't put a name with it. I'm assuming it's maybe her mother's? I don't know. So I like the email idea, because those, like the paper response cards, can be saved. The phone idea I don't like as much. You'll really have to keep track of who has called you and that could get hectic during the last few weeks of the wedding planning. I like the wording of the poster above me, but I would personally leave the phone number out. Stick with the email and paper.

I would just pick one, on the reply card just put a phone number or email address if that's how you want to do it. It'll be easier to keep track of if everyone is doing it the same way, and there's really no need to have three different options.
