Please help me,I over think everything & can't live my life?

Please give mature answers,I'm begging you. So basically,I over think and over analyze everything. For example..I'm in a very secure and long lasting possible marriage relationship, and if for one hour I don't think of that person I start to worry what that means,if I love them less, need them less etc. If thinking of us splitting doesn't automatically make me cry I think I don't love him anymore. Crazy things like that,I'm crying as I write this because it's tearing me apart. Please help me,I almost can't be happy! Everything in my life will be going great and I self consuously find something bad, like it's impossible for things to go right is how I think. I'm going to counseling this month but please I need some advice now! How do I stop over thinking analyzing evey thought thought or thing said!! Thank you so much.

Answer:
Sweetie. You need to get some help. You are suffering from anxiety and it has a compulsive quality to it. A therapist could easily help you with developing coping skills. You shouldn't have to live like that.

I think you have anxiety. I have a lot of anxiety myself and sometimes I over analyze things as well. It's probably the fear of the unknown that's getting to you, you feel unsure about things and trying to unscramble the confusion can be stressful. It also could be depression or mood changes that affect how you feel about something at certain times. It also could be Cyclothymia. I have this condition and I noticed that at times I can feel very happy with myself and life in general, other times I start to doubt myself and my self motivation slows down. Most times my moods changes throughout one day depending on circumstances. I'm aware of my mood changes so it helps me cope with it! Basically, Cyclothymia is a very mild form of bipolar. You can have series of up and down moods, but they are less extreme. However, they can still greatly affect the person who has it. Mood changes usually have triggers for both euphoria and down emotions. But I'm not saying it's true that you have it!! It's a possibility though. Maybe try talking to your lover about how your feeling. If you feel very uncomfortable about this ,going to counseling is a good idea! :]

oh dear. it sounds like you have OCD or some type of anxiety disorder at the very least. i don't know if you know about OCD but it involves obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviour. such as being very anxious about whether or not you've locked the door (obsession) and then repeatedly checking the lock and re-doing it (compulsive). very simple example. you didn't mention any compulsions so it's possible you could be experiencing "Pure-O" which is a form of OCD in which you only have obsessive thoughts but no compulsions or rituals as such. as for anxiety disorder, well the name is pretty self explanatory. OCD and anxiety are very closely related anyway. i think it's very good that you're going to see a counsellor. you could use some prescription medicines but i really believe that it's too much of a temporary fix with too many side effects. something called behavioural therapy- where you are taught not to obsess and act on it- sounds like the real deal. i also suggest you do a good amount of research online on what exactly you're suffering from. you could get a decent idea. i know where you're coming from. i've had severe OCD and anxiety. i took no help or medicines, but thankfully that phase sort of wore out. it's a very, very distressing thing to experience so i really feel for you (i still do have it on a moderate level of course). i don't know if you are a believer but prayer helps. i can imagine you hear these terrible voices in your head making you panic, saying things that aren't from your heart at all. i know what that's like. i just feel like closing your eyes in prayer and getting in touch with yourself REALLY helps because anxiety can mask who you are. saying something softly to yourself from your very core like, "i am happy. i love my husband. things are good. i am grateful..." you get the gist- it can help a lot. basically tell yourself what YOU truly believe so the anxiety can't always drown it and make you forget who you are. ultimately, it's a phase. it'll get better. i wish you the best. god bless.
