What qualifications do you need to work at a daycare?

What qualifications and experience do I need to work supporting people suffering from anxiety and depression?

  • Hi, I feel like I've come on a long journey in life and dealt with a lot of trauma in my family and relationships. I'd like to use and develop my communication skills to support others who are going through a difficult process. I feel this work would be much more challenging yet far more rewarding than the customer service work I currently do. I did some voluntary work for the Samaritans for a year or so when I was able to volunteer nights, but as a long term venture I'm looking at a sustainable career for myself. In other words if I do take a course or do voluntary work I will need to be able to use a paid work environment to support my development. I have a degree in Geography and I'd struggle terribly to put myself through another degree. Is it essential? Any ideas on how to take my first steps? Thank you Miss M

  • Answer:

Try to take some counselor course they could better qualify you for the position. Also try to talk to people that are in position to help people with depression this can help you discover how they got there. Also its a more reliable source than yahoo answers. I wish you luck!
