What is the strongest form of ADD medication?

To Have or not to have! Thats is my question. HElP?! ADHD.ADD disorder?!?

  • I suspect that I have some form of ADHD, and I try to tell my mom but she won't hear me out! Also, theres a bit of a communication problem, like.. she speaks fluent spanish.. and i speak fluent english (obviousley) so i have trouble talking with her sometimes. and its strange too coz i UNDERSTAND when Spanish when its being spoken by someone else or to me etc but when I have to SPEAK it, my tounge gets in a twist. which is stupid coz if i can understand it why cant i speak it? answer that plz too. also i heard that for adhd theres a medication called adderall. and i think that it would help me ALOT whether i have adhd/add or not. I zone out when pepole are talking to me and i can NEVER finish a book! i never really found out what happened at the end of "Roses are Red" by James patterson before i had to return it to the library =/. so anyways i want to find out fer sure if i have adhd/add coz most of the symptoms fit me.. and adderalll would be an awesome thing to take coz i get bored easily and i overeat, oversleep etccc. what do they do (doctours/shrinks) to determine if you have it? like whats the process and stuff? what woud happen if i do or dont? please and thanks! ps: is it true that if you have adhd/add that your "stupid"? coz im not stupid really... just have trouble thinking about schoolwork LOL

    NO, If you have ADD you are NOT stupid. I have severe ADD and graduated High School with a 4.0. In truth, many people with the disorder actually have a high intelligence. I'm not a shrink, but it doesn't really sound like you have ADD to me. However, if you're really worried about it, you should try to go get tested. I got tested when I was very young, so I don't really remember what exactly they did, but I remember having to go through a variety of tests, most of which seemed like games. They didn't feel like tests you'll take in school. Aderall can be very helpful for some people with the disorder. However, do NOT self-medicate with it unless prescribed by a doctor! ADD meds are very dangerous when not used properly!! There are also many different medications that can be used to treat ADD/ADHD, and not all of them will work for everyone else. I think you need to do some more research and talk to your parents/a doctor before making any concrete decisions. If you're in school, the school guidance councilor can often be a good tool in pointing you in the direction of help.

Speaking a language is harder than understanding it. To understand, all you have to do is decode. To speak, you have to put the puzzle together yourself. That's why you can't speak it as well. Quite simple. You don't really sound like you have ADD/ADHD. You sound like a normal kid. Do you know what Adderall is? It's speed. It's a highly addictive, destructive amphetamine. There is no good reason for you to not only self-diagnose, but decide that you should be on speed. That's ridiculous. A shrink would observe you and listen to you to determine what you need. And don't try to lie to them - they know.

i dont get the language thing either. i can read, write, and understand french, but i have problems speaking it. i may also have similar problems to you so that could be part of it. or not, i dont know. try to get the translation of 'can i see a doctor, i have problems' or something along those lines. i guess that the doctor will ask you a whole bunch of questions. as for the relationship between havind add and being stupid isnt true. im very smart and i have a whole mess of problems. i hope something in this helped you.
