What is going to happen..?

  • I am going to see a therapist for sexual assault. My parents have all ready blankly told me they don't believe me and that I'm lying because I compartmentalised what happen when it happen instead of acting out... Is the therapist going to think im just seeking attention because that is what my parents say.. or are they actually going to believe me.. what is the first visit even going to be like.. im so scared of whats to come thinking about it just makes me sick..

    Hi I'm a mum of 2 girls and my heart breaks to see this post, is there not a teacher or friends mum you can talk to about this. When you go to the therapist just take your time and explain it in your own words remember this is he/she's job and they hear stuff like this unfortunately all the time and they are there to help you and will not think you are attention seeking and if you just tell the truth and explain what happened then it should go ok. Hope you get the help you need and can get on with your future and don't let this bad experience wreck the rest of your life. Good luck chick x

The first couple of days for me was the therapist getting my information, like where you live, whats your religion, how long have you lived in your house, have you been molested, how old are you, how many siblings do you have, how old are they, adn how old are your parents, and etc The therapist will listen to everything you have to say and probably talk to you alone :)
