Cure for fear/stress-related sickness?

Ever since I was a little kid I've gotten sick before stressful situations and it makes it very hard to cope with things. Things as little as making a phone call to a stranger will cause me to get sick to my stomach and get uncontrollable shakes all over my body. The only thing that helps is excessive exercise- like running on the treadmill for an hour immediately before the stressful situation. The worst part is that I don't even fear the things that are causing the symptoms as much as I fear the symptoms themselves because they make it really hard to focus on the actual challenge that I'm facing. Is there any way to cure this?
