What do you think Waterfalls by TLC means?

Can someone please interpret my recent lung function tests for me?

Alv. Vol 121% Effective alveolar volume 91% I suffer from severe asthma & it's been really persistent this year. This particular episode has been going non stop since september & have been using my NEBULIZER 4 hourly ever since. I have also had 3 hospitalizations in this time period. I have been on prednisolone since September also. I take intal forte & serotide in terms of preventers, and in between nebs I take my puffer every half an hour or so. These are the results from my most recent lung function test, but my specialist appointment isn't for another 2 weeks so I wanna know how I did. Can someone interpret them for me please? It would be nice to know what each test specifically means and what is considered normal for an asthmatic & when one should seek hospitalization. Btw these results are 1 hour post ventolin NEBULIZER & 15 mins post ventolin inhaler 12 puffs through spacer. Just as an extra diagnostic data, I just did my peak flow & it was 250 (I normally when well blow 450 - 500) I think basically my question is should I seek help earlier cuz it's been deteriating (from it's already low point) for about a week now.

  • Answer:

I can guess, as I have emphysema, but would rather not. Your question wound up in mental health. Try it again in the Health section. Surely some nurse, doctor or respiratory therapist could see your question and answer it. Best of luck to you!!

Do some research. Clearly what you are doing is not working well. I do not have asthma, and have not studied it a lot. My first recommendation (in general) is to try a cool mist humidifier, and add a pint of hydrogen peroxide to a gallon of water, and run that near the bed. This helps keep things moist, so secretions can be handled better, and disinfected. Peroxide is something the body makes to combat infection, so this is not a poison you are introducing (like the ones you are now taking). Study this out rather than allow yourself to be damaged by malpractice.
