I dont know whats missing in my life... i feel broken inside?

Ive made more friends, pushed myself to go into school even when the depression is getting to me... I guess im more of a happier person? but im not. I feel im losing myself i feel sad. im stuck in the past. wishing i could change things. i feel so alone. i dont feel even that positive anymore. i feel crappy inside. i dont know what i want. i dont know what i want to work towards, sometimes i want to write, sometimes i want to do something to do with art.. I just dont know :/ i feel unhappy because i feel the depression is coming on really strong again. I just feel my life has no meaning. I feel my social anxiety is... Getting high again. School has become really hard for me again. Ive been feeling more lonley again. I... Just dont know. I dont know what to do everyone. Ive been reading more recently and drawing. trying to keep my mind of things. But i Still end up feeling that depression. Ive been feeling like this for a while. And i really dont know if i should go on medication or not.. Im only 14. But i dont want to go through another year and still be feeling this.. because ive felt this overwhelming depression like i have nothing really to live for for a while.. I have so many goals,dreams. and i dont know how to work towards them. and if i do... i dont know how i will be able to cope with the anxiety. even though its not completly bad it does get really bad at times. Ive heard you dont know who you are when your on medication? everything you like about yourself is gone... please help? tell me what to do?

Talk to your parents / school nurse or counsellor. You do need counselling and may need to be on anti-depressants for a while, only few patients may not tolerate certain specific anti-depressants. And whey they dont, we usually change the medication and the dosage. I have placed several patients on anti-depressants during their rough times and it helped them tremendously and they were able to come off of it. Just approach a psychiatrist and speak to the doc. The doc, along with your parents can monitor your state while you are on meds. Adjunctively, you should also try this Yoga. They have one specific for teens. It washes out negative thoughts / ideas, helps to balance the self, makes one more happier, more focused, gives one clarity of mind. Has helped many with depression,anxiety, suicidal ideations, stress, frustration. I am not going to try to councell you over yahoo answers, because the answers above me do that so much better than I could hope to do. Instead I will answer the last sentence of your question "tell me what to do?" What you do to fight this is up to you, but I can give you some suggestions. I personally have never been on antidepressants, but I have ADHD, and there are lots of myths surrounding stimulants (like they turn you into a zombie) and I'm guessing that these myths about depression medications are similar - just myths. I knew a girl who used to cut herself really severely, then she was put on antidepressants and now she is well on the way to recovery. I have also has minor depression, and I know how bad it is (even though yours is worse than mine), I have experienced the "empty" feeling, and know how difficult it is to explain. Your options are: 1 (I advise this). take medication now, your depression will go away, if you try to wait it out you may end up spending another year feeling this way, and THEN taking the medication. If you wait then you are wasting time when you could be happy, feeling depressed. 2. Wait it out, there are no risks involved with the medication but your depression could get worse, if you choose to do this I would advise counseling. You are much braver than I. I never worked up the courage to tell anyone how I felt, and wasted years feeling miserable. No matter what you choose to do, you can beat this and you can feel happy again.

Get some amino acids quick! A good compound. Take them for 1 month. If you do not feel better then go on the meds baby. Life is too sweet to waste time feeling yucky. Good luck.

I need to know your family first do you have a Mother and a Father in the home? Do you have priest or a preacher? I feel bad that you have to go to the PC for help. You should be talking to a person you trust. You need to take a chance and reach out to an adult or two and find one that can help you through this. Everybody goes throught a readjustment from time to time. Its ok to fail Its ok to win its ok to not play the game for a bit.

i know many people must tell u this, but i know exactly how u feel, i'm an 18 yr old guy, when i was 14, it was the darkest time of my life. The pain u describe is like the depression i had at that age. ur hormones are going in overdrive and in my opinion it is the most insecure time during ur teenage years. when i was 14, i was constantly bullied, beat up, and i even had a dirty seringe on the ground stabbed into me and i had to go for an AIDS test... i was so traumatised,a and was just coming to terms with the fact i could hav AIDS, it was even getting to the point where i was about to commit suicide. but i met a friend, and they were really good to me during that time, the test came back negative and i stopped getting bullied, now i feel happier than ever and i have many friends and MANY reasons to LIVE!! my point is, never ever ever ever give up, there is always light and always hope, and one day u will laugh at this time in ur life ;) hope this helps, from the almighty BOB

I am sorry .We all experience such a pit in our lives ,whatever age. Such health issues often develop from a sense of isolation or loneliness. The introversion back into ourselves can produce a sort of malaise which later leads to anger and frustration and the feeling that we are worthless or failures. This often leads to violent reaction against ourselves or others ,including attempted suicide. The answer lies in knowing our true worth and being loved or respected for ourselves. Crowds can be the most lonely things and social networking offers some release but no substitute for human contact and live relationships. All the technology in the world is no substitute for peace of mind and spiritual wholeness. So to whom can we turn in the desperation of adolescence or ageing processes ? Who else but the very author of life who knows all about us yet loves us just the same? No religion brings such a hug ..only God can embrace all that we are and all that we can become. Drugs are the last resort failing the choice of a healthy mindset and taking care of ourselves according to the makers instructions! Added to which our age is one of unprecedented social breakdown with all the stresses that induces. How can anyone therefore escape the rigours of anger, depression, psychosis when our mental and spiritual diet consists of so much pigswill? The food chain and atmosphere alone is toxified with our own carcogenics including many drugs. Dietary factors like low intake of pure water and fruit and vegetables lowers the immunity of all our hormonal balance.
