  • so my uncle who I am very close with had/has a alchol problem and it kills me too watch , I meen I love my uncle alot and I am soo afraid something is going to happen to him. He has been close to death numerous times. Last summer I had to see my hero passed out cold unconcios face turning blue. dieing the paremedics saved him. and again he forgot who we were and was punching at my family and I. He is not aware that he has a alchol problem and I don't have the heart to tell him because he gets very defensive and angry. I just can't watch him go through this. I have nightmares all the time about my Uncle dieing and I am paranoid. I just wish I could save him. he is going through a rough time with divorce and he is bipolar and had depression as a teenager and has threatened suicide before. on my 16th birthday he was really drunk and he was crying and upset and stuff. and I gave him his christmas present and he starteed crying and chugged a bottle of wine and I have to be tough and not cry for his sake cause I do not want to make him feel worse but I can't handle it and sometimes it just gets so hard to cope with I end up doing stupid stuff to myself and I don't know, Like he is my best friend and I do not know what to do to cheer him up .My Aunt his sister said we just got to show him how much we all love and care about him and I do everyday. He is not able to have kids of his own so I try to be like a daughter to him . but it just makes me feel sick thinking that he is sad and when I am happy I feel guilty and ughh please help me? any suggestion and input would be much appreciated thanks!

  • Answer:

Give this a try, I got this guide for my Dad and it helped him slow down on his drinking then my son finally begged him to quit and one day Dad just put the bottle down and never picked it up again! By slowing down i mean he wouldn`t drink unless something upset him otherwise he left it alone so for the most part he had stopped using the book alone, its just a matter of getting him to read it. Hope this helps you!

awe! well first of all, don't feel guilty. one of my family members is an alcoholic too. and showing them you love them, that is the best way to do it. and if your really close to him, you should talk to him, and tell him that it bothers you, and that if he cares about you, he should stop. also, try to keep him busy. go out somewhere one day, out for dinner or something. if worst comes to worst, he might need to see someone. but first, try to tell him yourself exactly how you feel about this, and tell him you love him so much, you don't want to see this happen. he may get defensive, but it won't last forever. just be open and honest. good luck!
