How do I get over anxiety?

Anxiety and panic attacks make me feel horrible...How can I get over my anxiety without medication? Advice?

  • I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety, but recently I've started feeling really depressed because of my anxiety issues. I don't want to take medication for it, as you have to end up relying on medication to get you better. I don't suffer terribly from anxiety, but I do get anxiety quite bad, so how do I get over it? I am unemployed and I don't have much of a social life, therefore this makes me feel slightly miserable to be honest. But I get anxiety and it makes me depressed to have anxiety and suffer from panic attacks. Sometimes I think "why me?" because it's horrible, but then there's not much I can do apart from not worry, but it's so hard to do that, especially with the way our economy is in the UK. Any advice?

  • Answer:

I don;t know why people are so against medication. If you have diabetes would you take medication? If you had lupus would you take medication? If you had high cholesterol would you take medication? Sure you would because these ae physical problems and you while it would be relying on medication to get well you would consider it necessary. You can have a chemical imbalance in your brain that may need medication to balance. Anti depressants work very well for both depression ad anxiety and there is no reason for you to suffer when help is available....... You would take medication for your body.... you can take it for an issue with your brain.
