Why can't I talk to anyone on MSN?

I'm extremly shy, I cant talk to anyone basically ..?

  • Okay, so I'm really shy. I only have about one friend in school because of it. If someone says something to me, I mumble or make a fool of myself. I am quiet. But at home or with friends Im extremly out of control, hyper, etc. If im at the mall and my friend leaves to go say hi to someone and leaves me alone I freak out bascially. Or if she brings me up to her friends I dont really talk. A college called for me today to talk to me, and I couldnt even answer the phone because i was so shy! And its not because its a college, if anyone I dont know calls to talk to me (colleges, military workers, people I dont know, etc.) I freak out and make a fool of myself. How do I get over this. Its not a case of "be yourself" because I just make myself out to be an idiot.

    hey i saw your question and decided to answer because it really sounded like me when i was younger. I was absolutely hyper around ppl i knew like my friends and family but if i was around strangers i was a completely different person and after a while it started to really annoy me. I got so angry that I couldn't be myself in front of ppl i didnt know and soon that anger became so strong that i didn't care what they thought anymore. The damage to myself was more terrifying than making a fool of myself in front of ppl so i guess you could say i turned my anger into something constructive. I just couldn't bear it any longer so i had no other option but to act out a bit more in front of ppl. I'm not saying that you are necessarily like that because everyone is different but i thought you might like to hear my experience and hopefully you can take something from it. Take care, Lisa.

Ok, Im 30 and i have thought much about being shy, let me try to help you. Firstly realize that's LOTS of peole feel shy, in fact almost everybody is to some degree.. you are not alone in the way you feel. To solve shyness is tricky, its going to take some practice, but with patience and persistence you can overcome it. Understand that's its OK to be shy, and that you are not a bad person because of it. Try imagining whats the worst that could happen if you make a fool of yourself. Sure you may feel a little embarrassed but is that really such a big deal? Also be aware that you cannot read peoples minds. You dont really know what people are thinking, give them the benefit of doubt...and besides if people really DO think that way about you, then they are not worth knowing in the first place. Also i suggest reading a book by bernardo carducci (google it) it will help you and give you some tips.

God can help you live a better life if you want Him to help you. You can have a personal relationship with God by saying the prayer below. God is our Creator, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal, holy, love. God loves us and sent us His Son, Jesus Christ, so we can go to heaven if we know and follow Him. Forever means without end -- time on and on without death. Forever is what happens after we die. Either we go to heaven and be with God forever, or we go to hell which is very bad and painful forever. The good people who are saved believers in Jesus Christ go to heaven. The bad people go to hell. We need to know and follow God in this world to get to heaven in the next world. We follow God by loving and obeying Him and loving others for Him. Jesus Christ, God's Son, is our bridge to God. Jesus died on the cross to cancel our sins. We need to accept Jesus into our life as our Lord and Savior forever to receive God's blessing and forgiveness plus go to heaven to be with God forever after we die. This is about being a born-again Christian. Faith in God is a gift from God. You can pray for faith in God. Just speak out and ask God for the faith to believe in Him and to follow Him. Some people find faith in God when they realize the beauty in the world is made by God. Evolution can't explain the world's natural beauty, for example, the parks in the world, animals, flowers, peacocks, sunsets, butterflies, rainbows, etc. After you have your faith on, you can pray a sinner's prayer to be a born-again Christian. This prayer is very important and should be said with a sincere heart and faith in God. This is the prayer: "Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice for our sins. I have done the following sins (state these out) and I pray to discontinue these sins. I pray to receive Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior forever. In Jesus' name, amen." I'm Lutheran and I like the Baptist churches. You could find a good Christian church and try a weekly Bible study group with them to learn more. You can pray to God about your daily life.
