Why do I feel vibration in my head when I try to sleep?

Why does my brain feel like its being shocked, or plugged into "the Matrix" when I try to go to sleep?

  • I've been trying to sleep and for the last 2 weeks I haven't been sleeping well. This is largely due to the fact that every time I close my eyes and try to relax, it feels like I'm being shocked through my brain. First "It" feels like my body disappears and then it feels like my eye balls are being sucked into the back of my head and then a terrible shocking or suction feeling hits me and I have to get up and walk around or it keeps happening. It feels absolutely horrible. It reminds me of when Neo in "the matrix" first gets plugged in and there's a terrible ringing noise. Except the ringing noise comes from the feeling itself. I'm not a drug user and I know I'm a healthy eater. I don't know what's wrong with me. Please help.

  • Answer:

Hey I get this too. It is awful. To me it feels like when you are just drifting off to sleep, lightening is going through your head and I have to shake myself out of it! really frightening. It may be some sort of sleep paralaysis. Do you find that you feel paralysed and cant shake yourself out of it? If so, I think thats what it is. Not sure if there is any help for it, but I havnt had it for ages now, luckily!
