What is the strongest form of ADD medication?

Parents resist giving me medication for my ADD?

• Hello Yahoo Answers. I have a little dilemma here. I am 18 years old who has been diagnosed with multiple learning disabilities. Over my years of getting tested I have been told by all that I have a pretty evident form of ADD. The problem is I have never taken medication for it. Though, I now want to try to take some form of medication because when ever I read websites describing the issue people with ADD people have I immediately agree. Now my parents don't want to give me medication for my ADD because I have hypertension too and they are scared its going to make my high blood pressure worst. I tried to settle their fears by saying that many people with ADD and Hypertension take ADD medicane and they are fine. I also told them, that if anything bad did happen due to my medication than I would get off of it ASAP. We have talked to my physician about this and he told me I shouldn't take any. Now let me make something clear here my doctor hates giving medication to any of his patients. I have a hard enough time getting him to prescribe me inhalers for my asthma. So I was assuming when I first asked him this that he would say no. Now because I am 18 if I scheduled an appointment with a psychologists to discuss this but used my parents health insurance can I do this? Thanks for any help in advance! Thanks

  First you should talk to your parents about this!!! they should be giving you med and espically if u want them and are needed. But since you all ready did that try to get far with the insurance ok get ur medications and tell the doc to give u refills so when you go to the pharmacy they just refill it ok :D
