Talking german in my sleep. is this common?

I need some information on sleepwalking and talking in your sleep.?

  • My mom woke me up today yelling at me, asking me why I was up at 2 in the morning talking on the phone. She said that she heard me talking all the way from her room, so she walked into the hallway and it sounded like i was RIGHT by my door, just talking like normal. Then about a minute later i stopped, turned on my sound soother, and she didn't hear anything after that. I specifically remember turning on my sound soother, and going to sleep around midnight though. I don't remember one thing about what my mom said. So.. i've never slept/talked in my sleep ever before and i'm kind of paranoid. I'm even scared to go to sleep tonight. haha What causes people to walk/talk in their sleep? I just need some more information... Thanks!

    Usually something that has disturbed you greatly. I would suggest if you are having a hard time with something or if it keeps recurring, that you should talk to a counsellor.

i talk in my sleep all the time. i even wake myself up. there is nothing wrong with talking in your sleep, you are just dreaming. now sleep WALKING is different that could be dangerous. my brother in law sleep walks all the time and one time he found himself driving down the road and didnt even know it.
