Virtual HS problems please help?

Please help me~?

• I used to have an okay amount of self confidence and self esteem but I think I lost all of it when I entered HS. I'm 14 now and I've met and seen a lot of different people, a lot of them are gifted and very talented. I became too much of a negative thinker and began to compare myself to others. Like, I can tell myself I can sing but then she's better than me. I used to believe I had talent and sometimes I even thought like this, "I can beat that." but I think I lost that as well. I can't even tell anymore if I'm singing properly, if I'm singing using the throat or the diaphragm. Also, for some reason I can't hit the high notes anymore like I did when I was a lot younger (I had voice lessons but it didn't matter much to me that time). I'm not sure if it has something to do with my lifestyle but we're having financial problems right now and I'm a little distant with my family members. I'm not having fun on anything right now and I find my current lifestyle boring. Please help?

  well, you know what the problems are. Your confidence is suffering because of some crappy life situations, and because you've been thrown into a big pond with big fish. See if you can get some extra singing time after class, so you can work on your notes. And realize that there's always someone better, but what really has changed about you? You are the same person you were last year, and you were good enough then. You do need to keep working on yourself, we all do. But do it positively. You're not going to get any better beating yourself up. And NEVER compare. It only makes you feel bad Take it from me. I am learning this the hard way!! I know this isn't that helpful, but I can relate to your feelings. Don't get into a habit of never feeling good enough. It's hard to stop.
