Break problems on a yz125.

Break problems on my yz125?

  • my rear hydraulic breaks will not work, i checked the master cylinder for break fluid and it was full, i bled the lines and few times and there is still no pressure, i put a screw drived between the break pad and the caliper to see if there was any pressure at all and there wasnt it wouldnt even clamp the screw driver like it should i could pull the screw driver out with ease no pressure at alll.. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM????...........my friend said that when u bleed the lines that the caliper should be higher than the master cylinder, is that true?? please help,,,, thankss

  • Answer:

the brakes on my drz was real questionable at times so i tried bleeding it the conventional way and then i had no brakes what so ever, i then borrowed a vacuum bleeder pump from a friend and bled them with it and they was like new again, so while i had his pump i bought some dot 4 fluid and went with all new fluid and not had a problem since, had the same problem on a friends hydraulic clutch so borrowed pump again and it fixed it right up

Time to buy a new master cylinder or slave cylinder. Your best bet is to rebuild the whole brake system.
