Ya I just picked up 1979 suzuki motorcycle with a 550 motor and I was just wondering if anyone knew how many quarts of oil does it take?

On mostly any and every suzuki motorcycle engine the amount of oil that you should add is usually on the side of the engine case usually around where the oil cap is located. the amount will be in ml.

It should be around three. Like already said, on the side of the case next to the sight glass and oil cap, there should be a stamped in number of how much oil it takes. You may have to convert the units it gives into quarts. If all else fails, fill the engine until you can see the oil level reach midway up the sight glass.
