Where can i get a custom built motorcycle helmet?

Take a look at a modern full-face helmet, and count the number of parts that it is made up of. The shell is only one part, but the face-shield mechanism is complex, and the padding is made up of many parts. You also need all the parts for the various vents, retention system, an optically acceptable, scratch resistant and shatterproof face-shield and a custom molded foam liner. You will need special glues to assemble the helmet without chemically affecting any of the parts, and without the glues giving off noxious fumes within the helmet Add in the cost of painting and clear-coating. Don't forget that you will need to build several helmets, as DOT destroys several helmets in their testing procedure. That's a lot of money to spend on a safety item that has to be discarded after a single crash.
