What are some easy tricks for an automatic dirtbike?

Whats a good dirtbike for someone my size?

  • Hey i currently have a '03 Honda XR50 and i want a new dirtbike. I am 13 years old, 5'6", and 117lbs. I want to race MX on my new dirtbike after i get used to it, and i also want to be able to go off ramps with it and do tricks with it.

    Well you really only have 4 good options. A 125 2 stroke like the others mentioned is one option but personally I don't agree with that one. 125 2 strokes are very temperamental bikes and only having experience on a XR50 that will be a hard transition for you. A much better option is a 250F like the Honda CRF250R, all 250F's are awesome though. Your other two options are an 85 2 stroke or a Honda CRF150R. The problem is that you are getting too tall for an 85/150. If you can afford to buy an 85 or 150R and then move to a 250F in 2 years that would be fine, but if you need to keep this bike more than 2 years go ahead and move to a 250F. The 125 2 stroke will be cheaper, but you will most likely regret that purchase. I moved my nephew to a 250F at 13 and 5'4". I know if sounds like a big bike, but the 250F is the 4 stroke equivalent to a 125 2 stroke, but the 250F is a far easier bike to ride because of it's smooth power delivery.

I think a yamaha 125 would work best for you. Its a little lighter than most bikes its size. It may be a little tall for you but if you tighten up the springs you can lower it a couple inches. The yamaha has a little more low end power (factory sprokets) than most. You will need the low end power for what you want to do with the bike.

cr125? a 2 stroke to get you into the real power of the game. maybe even a cr85. go test some? any brand though.
