How do I make a Venetian mask?

How hard is it to make a good looking venetian mask?

  • My boyfriend and I are going to prom in may, and the theme is masquerade. I was looking for a mask to match my dress http://www.dressale.com/striking-two-tones-ball-gown-cut-party-dresses-p-14483.html and couldn't find one I liked with the right colors and stuff! We want to make it with plaster bandages. How hard is it going to be to make a mask like that?

  • Answer:

It would take a weekend probably. First put some vaseline on your forehead and over your cheeks and the bridge of your nose, and lay the plaster bandage over those areas making a little racoon mask for yourself. put vaseline on your eyebrows too- the plaster will grab your hair in a very unpleasant way unless you put vaseline on (even the tiny tiny hairs on your forehead/skin so put it on anywhere the plaster will touch). Once the bandage dries -5 or 10 minutes, peel off the raccoon mask, and you can now add decorations and paint. Good luck! sounds fun
