Is a Acer Aspire 5750 Intel Core i5, good for general use and gaming?

    That laptop has the following GPU chipset: Intel® HD Graphics 3000 with 128 MB of dedicated system memory, supporting Microsoft® DirectX® 10.1 According to the mobile GPU gaming list below, you'll get playable performance on low settings for Sims 3 but it won't handle GTA 4 even on low settings. Basically not a good laptop for gaming performance. Look for something with a dedicated GPU that is higher up on the list from the second link below.

The only thing that concerns me here is the UMA graphics, which in this case would be intergrated (Intel HD 3000) which is meant for light gaming and not very powerful (Will run older games like Left 4 Dead at a good detail and frame rate, but demanding newer games would not be playable likely) Right now, a good deal I would recommend would be HP's Dv6t quad core laptop as they are offering huge discounts on them. This feature can cause issues with some games, causing them to refuse to run, as some games are coded to check for total dedicated ram, instead of total usable ram, and if they detect an (incorrect) amount of Dedicated RAM, a game may error with a message saying insufficient hardware or such.
