What college is best for photography?

  • i want to have a career in photography. im a junior in highschool now and need to start planning out college stuff. im not sure whether to go into fashion photography or landscape or another genre. what area of photography makes the most money? also, what are some great colleges for photography and what should i major in?

    Brooks Institute of Photography, one of the best in the world. Great Instructors gorgeous location and some of the best facilities. Great learning environment. 4 yr degree in 3 yrs no summers off. You learn hands on from day one and are prepared for just about anything when you are done. As for the field that makes the most money, probably still/fine art.

The Art Institutes (Go to their website,http://www.artinstitutes.edu/, it'll tell you a lot!) have really good photography programs. You could probably do a little of everything! Fashion, landscape, whatever you want! Just have fun with it. Also, if you do a little of everything that would probably be the best way to make the highest income. I like to go to deviantArt (http://www.deviantart.com/) to learn about photography and the various different styles and categories photography has!

Major in business and marketing, take photo and art classes for your gen ed classes. You will want to be in the top 2% of your HS class if at all possible with a good mix of classes for college prep. Then you will have the base to work from to become the business man photographer that makes a living with photography as the product.
