Im studying photography in college.. what career could i get out of this for the future?

Waitressing and odds-and-ends jobs. It's very hard to make a career out of photography these days, much investment needed for not much return.

It's a hard profession to get into nowadays as since the development of digital many amateurs have progressed into doing the day-to-day stuff like weddings and portraits without studying, and even into the more business type forms of photography (2/10 of my Flickr friends now make some money out of it, but only one enough to live off (mind you, she IS damned good).
