How to do time lapse photography?

  • I was looking at this page: http://www.smashingtips.com/time-lapse-photography-tips I don't understand how they get perfect exposures on every shot with the ever-changing lighting, is it all HDR? Also, how do they capture the stars and get the perfect milky way outline with vibrant purple colors in the Mountain Light video? Is this all done in post processing? If so, how and which programs are best to use and what do you do? I am very interested in doing this, so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    For time lapse photography, you are taking a picture either at the same time each day over a span of time, or your are taking one frame every 5 minutes or whatever interval you choose depending upon your subject.
