What is The best dslr camera for professional use?

  • Am in my second year in college with a degree in photography. I already now the basics in cameras but it still hard for me to decide which camera is best for me. Right now I have a Sony alpha 200 and I'll like to upgrade. I shoot my photos in raw and I'll like some help on a good camera with an affordable price. No more then 1500

    1500 doesn't buy you a professional camera. Look at a used Canon 5d or a nikon d700

How can someone with "a degree in photography" be so totally clueless about cameras? The best DSLR for PROFESSIONAL use as you call it cannot even be touched for $1500. ONE lens alone will cost that much, with the body in the five to six thousand dollar range. steve

If you ultimately are going to be a professional, it is probably a good time to consider Nikon or Canon. You can probably get by with an intermediate camera - you don't need to go top of the line while you're in school. Use the extra money to invest in better glass, which can last a lifetime and is essential when you go pro.

The Canon 1Dx is the best DSLR, but it will not be available until March. It costs $6,800 without a lens, which is an amazingly affordable price considering the features. If you budget is only $1500, you are out of luck. You cannot get a pro level camera for that price.
