What is a good camera for action shots?

What is a good camera to take Dog Agility Action Shots with?

  • I need a good camera (pref SLR/DSLR) that is good for taking Dog agility action shots, Irish Dancing shots, flyball shots etc. So it needs to be like almost took as soon as I press the button. I have gone through many camera's, and people say its time for me to go to a SLR/DSLR.. But the camera can't be very expensive, I'm 14 years old and I don't earn money, or get pocket money etc, and my mum doesn't have much, so it has to be cheap! Thanks

  • Answer:

Have you tried setting the camera to sport mode and holding the shutter button half way down until you are ready to take the picture so it will take the picture as soon as you push the button all the way down. also if the camera you have lets you change shutter speeds you can try setting your shutter speed to 1/500 and that works for most action shots. As for a camera i use a Kodak Easyshare MAX (Z990). The Kodak Easyshare MAX is my favorite camera i have, it has a 30x optical zoom and a super macro mode that work great, since it able to do those 2 things it does not need interchangeable lenses which which can end up costing a lot. It is not a DSLR but i actually prefer it over my canon xsi because it can do just about everything my canon xsi can do, and i don't need to carry around extra lenses. They are $264.54 at walmart.com but you might be able to find them lower somewhere else. you can contact me if you have any questions.
