How To Draw Expressively?

How can I learn to draw people?

  • I'm an artist, I've completed Advanced-Level Art. I've always been very good at cartoons and manga. But the only thing I can't do is draw manga people >.< I can draw creatures to the same proportions over and over. I can draw any object I can see or imagine, any scenery I can see or imagine, anything really. I can even draw people I see. And light effects such as fire and electricity and invisibility, etc. But I can't draw manga characters I see in my head. I will occasionally do a brilliant drawing but that is once every week or so.then I cannot get the right perspective. I don't know where to learn this kind of thing. I haven't any money that I can use on lessons, so I was wondering how I can learn to draw people for free? I also can't travel far. I need help with the absolute basics, such as drawing the lines and how big to draw, etc. Something online would be perfect. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem friend! What I like to do is look at stock photos and study the different faces. Stock photos can be found on any stock.. website. lol just google 'free stock photos' or something. Also, try to ... I googled and found a really cool website just now! http://www.artmorgue.com/ It has a bunch of references for anatomy and faces and also skeletal structure. I definitely recommend skeletal structure!! Once you get that down, you can draw people like nothing! :) Lots of practice makes.. almost perfect. Good luck!
