What do u do if u have wanna be Con Artist Clients?

So I wanna become a video game "artist"...?

• such as drawing creatures/characters/scenes/etc. and then putting them on the computer. Problem is I can't draw... I like art but I get so frustrated that I cant draw that I don't even practice, I get so discouraged. I'm in art at school but we do lots of projects (drawing, painting, prints, sculpturing) and not a lot of learning/practice. Should I be taking outside courses or get some books (I tried this and I found a lot of it very overwhelming)? I'd really love to know how to get really good asap because I'm already 16 and would also like to get my apprenticeship to be a tattoo artist but I can't if I suck at drawing.... Also to be a video game "artist", do I have to draw them or can I somehow just do it on the computer?

  Well, if you're doing 3D computer art you can draw it on the computer (but it's not that easy as a beginner). As for you finding your art projects overwhelming in school, that almost sounds like you just want your work to be very easy like "tada"! The more complicated you make your work, the harder it becomes for you (but if you want to be one of the best out there, then you have to take risks sometimes). Also I'm in college right now, and my teachers do the same thing that your teachers do in high school (shove you lots of projects to do, but teach you so little). They're preparing you for the real world, so when that happens you should find the time to learn whatver you need to on your own (that's the only way you'll learn more outside of the classroom). But if you want to be looked at as a video game artist, you have to have good drawings because you have to send your portfolio to a company if you want to work for them (unless you want to be a freelance artist). Your in high school though, so you have plenty of time to improve, also you shouldn't get discouraged to the point that you don't practice. It almost seems as if your not really interested in becoming a video game artist. You gotta get tougher, or else you'll dig yourself in a tough competition in the future that you won't be able to handle.
