What jobs would be best for me?

  • Well, I'm in high school and I thought it would be best to think about my career. I love art, and want I draw or do graphic design. I an best at drawing manga and anime, but don't know what job I should get. I don't want to make advertisements, because I don't wanna make logo's. I wanna draw anime. Can you name some jobs that might be good for me?

  • Answer:

I'm ashamed to say as much art I have created over the years, and to be as old as I am, I've never heard of the term manga and anime. Art to a lot of people isn't considered to be a "real job", despite what our hepped up on creativity art instructors tell us. I'd say you'd make a good art instructor...it's something you know well, and others wish they did...and still yet others would pay to learn how to create anything "artistically" so. You can take the best of what talents you have and put them to use by thinking how you want to make it something (your audience) appreciates. This goes for just about any natural talent a person has. Yes while we know all famous artists are making the bucks and enjoying a lavish lifestyle, there are those starving as well. The difference...those that make it work for them have shared it...Yes, I'm starving everyonce in a while, I'll work on something that took 2 weeks...I'll just set it aside and start something else...then I'll create something that somebody else thinks is a masterpeice of brilliance...that took less than an hour but will pay me 250 bucks for without blinking. Art is a difficult and painful career builder by it self...You could try to work at a degree in Arts, then opportunities could open up more choices to pick from...it's a whole new world at college, and after...keep the art dream alive. What did people do before they could pick jobs? Right they Invented their own jobs. Open up an art studio and teach the younger kids the basic principals that you've already mastered...that way you can keep doing what you love...and get paid doing it. I'm too old and set in my ways to consider "working at a job" doing what I like....having an employer tell me which brush to use wouldn't be pleasant...Anyway...what ever you do...make the best of it...take what you know and run with it. I'm sorry I couldn't be more specific...I don't know you.
