How do you change a light hair color to black hair in Photoshop?

Hello, I need a little help with a bit of photo manipulation. I use Photoshop CS4 and I would like to know how to change a lighter hair color so that the hair is a black color. I have tried changing the hasir color using the masking tool but I can never get the hair color to be as close to a black color as I would like. Is there any other method or am I missing something here? I've been searching for tutorials and the like but haven't been having so much luck with success. Please help. Thank you!

Answer:
First make sure that area is selected, and that the image you want to edit is separate from the background. After the area is selected, go to "image", "adjustments" and then "Hue & Saturation". When the window pops up, tinker with the Hue saturation and lightness so you can pick the right shade. Hope this helps!

well, i'm not much of a photoshop guru, but on picnik.com you can recolor hair or just color it by painting on the picture and making it a little transparent. you can use taaz.com too to recolor hair with a click of your mouse.
