How to create text watermark background?

After creating a layer of text, I don't seem to be able to create another layer of text....?

  • In photoshop, the first layer of text is just shown on the background of the picture, then the main text is the second layer, because I did for second straight after the first, I don't seem to be able to do it, the text I create is actually changing the font and size of the first one, I cannot command the software to create another layer of text (the software cannot distinguish the two). I have used the layer button to create another layer, but not successful, every time I click on text, it will just go back to layer two...what can I do?

  • Answer:

may depend on some setting you have, if selected text layer is in edit mode or selection, or still floating, then it is not a layer it self yet, and you are still using that layer, try making new layer not for text but to paint, then add new text after, or check that all other layers are not in use, blocking further additions, liovedocs Photoshop layers> http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/10.0/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-78e1.html ..
