How do I become a graphic designer?

I'm currently in high school and I'm a bit confused. If i'm correct, I need to have experience with many different softwares. (such as photoshop) What kind of classes should I take while in high school? (Computer Graphics, Studio Art, AP Art, etc.) Also, how can I learn graphic design? I heard that you can take lessons at a local community college. Any answers would be much appreciated! Also, How could I gain experience with graphic design

Any sort of computer classes and art classes would be fine. Not sure where you are from so schooling could be a bit different. Experience with the design software is crucial to graphic design but even buying the software for your home computer is just fine, thats how i first started. I went through a graphic design course with experience from home. Getting some work experience in a graphic design business is great too. Good Luck
