How do you make a moving gif image?

Way to make an animated gif image saved in better quality?

  • I have some frames in png format that means in good quality and i want to save them in gif format(animated),by keeping the best quality possible. I'm using Photoshop CS3 and everytime i try to save them (using the Save For Web & Devices dialog box )and trying different settings in gif mode(selective, adaptive,no dither, pattern, noise etc),the colors look terrible, full of spots and distortions. I know that the gif format is by nature more defective but is it a way or software to keep the best quality possible for creating an animated gif image with different frames? Please help me..Thank you!

  • Answer:

I was recently reading about this (free) animation software that is supposed to be a "cousin" of Flash: http://download.cnet.com/Synfig-Studio/3000-2186_4-10655202.html?tag=mncol;7 I just might try it... Hmm... I have found a lot of good stuff at CNET.

As a .gif? Not really. The .gif format is limited to 256 colors total, so there isn't a whole lot you can do to retain details.

Will
