How to make a working model of tornado?

• i m in 10th. i m asked to make a good project on disaster management.i thought of making a working model of tornado...so if u know how v can make it please help me....it should be simple (affordable) and if u have any idea about wt other projects i can make please advice..........it is really urgent please....

  To make something that looks like a working tornado, you need a fluid and something to show the tornado shape and something to whirl the fluid. The two practical fluids are air and water and showing the whirling in air requires a pretty good blower and either fine paper or smoke and the latter is not great in school places. Therefore the best choice would be water with a large round glass bowl, cylinder, tank, or glass. Although there are other choices, I would suggest uncooked rice for stuff to show the swirling pattern. It is light enough to rise up quickly. You can't leave the rice in the water, but then you are/should not be moving the glass with water in it - get water in a plastic gallon jug from the restroom/janitor's sink. Then you need to be able to stir the water around to make the tornado,. You could build a cover and mount paddles with a handle outside to turn, but you can produce the same effect with a rod, dowel or spoon and those let more light in to let people see.
