Where can I find a pen pal?

Where can you find a real pen pal?

  • When I was little my school never gave us the option to have a pen pal. And now that I'm older I feel alone most of the time. I would love to have someone to talk to who would actually understand(NOT a therapist), So i would really like to have a pen pal, but every site I go to it doesn't help me at all. So where can you go to find one?

  • Answer:

Two of mine I've had for over 20 years, we send 4 or 6 month letters but we wrote far more often in the past. Pen pal groups are advertised online, just google "pen pal list" but I'd suggest not writing to anyone that's incarcerated, they have lists for those too but that's not too safe sometimes. Check for ones that are overseas or in the US who have the same interests you do. When I was into rubber stamping crafts the magazine RubberstampMadness Magazine had a special pen pal section in the back, I wrote to a few people that way as well.

I think it would be easy to find a pen pal! You could look online for someone who is interested or find a friend in another city/state/country when you're traveling and use it as a means of staying in touch. Decide who you want to correspond with first though. A male? Female? Age? Location? Don't care? etc. and go from there.
