What types of careers invololve art?

• I'm a student in high school. Everyone i know tells me to go into something with art and I definately want to. I don't want to sound cocky but I'm pretty good at sketching cartoon and realistic stuff. Pretty much any kind of drawing I can do. Now next year I'll be a senior and i am starting to think about careers. I was looking into architecture, art education, or graphic design. But i would love to hear more about the opportunities i have out there! please help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.

Whether you enjoy more geometric, measuring kinds of art, I would definitely say architecture, graphic design, or other design-oriented jobs would be best for you. If you enjoy making comic type artwork, such as involving movement or action you could look into story boarding, animation, comic book artist or cartoonist. As for sketching and drawing you could become a studio artist (though it is quite risky), an illustrator, a book illustrator, a medical illustrator, character designer etc. You could become an art critic if you enjoy writing and have good taste! In the teaching aspect, there is always art education to become a teacher or professor, or if you are interested in emotional release through artwork you could even become and art therapist.
