How To Learn Photoshop?

How did you learn Photoshop?

  • There are like a million features in that thing...and I know only the basics about photoshop. I use it for my purpose but I'd like to know more about it so i can use it more effectively. So I'm asking to all those professional photoshop users...that really know their way around the program... How did you learn Photoshop? From a book...a class.. trail and error? How? And where exactly can I learn the way you did? Thanks for answering.

    Either go to Adobe's site, or Google "Photoshop tutorials". I use Adobe Bridge more that PS, but I'm not into graphics design.

I started using photoshop in high school, so I only had online tutorials and a friend who knew the program to guide me. Later I took some college classes on it, but they didn't really teach me anything new. The program feels huge and intimidating, but really it doesn't take long to get the hang of it. Most people only use a fraction of the tools and functions, it's not necessary to know what every little thing does.

A lot of time, experimenting, and online tutorials. Tutorials help a lot, and they have step by step pictures to help you out. You can never know everything though, there's always more!
