What do you think about Art?

I want to be a tattooist, what do you think of my art?

Do you think I could make it? I'm looking to take an art class to build up my skills + techniques thanks :)

  Those look acceptable. I especially like the rose. Did you come up with the thorny points on the petals or were those in the reference? If you came up with them then good job! Bear in mind that tattoo artists like most artists, are asked to do a lot of things, some which may be within the artist's realm of expertise and others not so much. Your artwork is more graphic and stylized in nature which is good because that is tattoo art's forte. How would you feel if someone asked you for a tattoo of Jesus on the cross done photo-realistically? First of all, the dermagraphic art form does not lend itself to subtle shading and colors (not that it CAN'T be done) and with THAT said, if the artist isn't a good photo-realist, the lack of artistic skill coupled with the limitations of the medium can make for some pretty bad tattoos. Like someone above me said: erasing is not an option with tattooing (well, it is if you have a laser beam) so sticking with what you know and do well is advisable. I'm not saying do NOT venture outside your realm of capability. You could develop your own signature "style" by doing so but bear in mind: the great artists of the world did not start out rendering masterpieces. They had to learn and perfect their art. It looks like you are well on your way to doing the same thing. Good luck.
