  • Answer:

sorry but no.. Im in the same situation, although not in that area, its the same. It has to do with health insurance or something. Although, if u can find a cat shelter they MIGHT allow it, and if u have an adult, that may also work. Most also need people to hold bake sales and fundraisers so look into that too!! good luck

Find a reputable rescue - not a shelter, but a rescue group- and ask what you could help with. Shelters are not insured to let you volunteer- but rescues do things like make crafts and sell them to raise money - if you know how to sew a small square, you could make little catnip cat toys to be sold at the vet's office, or braid long strips of heavy fleece as tug toys to be sold at dog shows. THere are loads of things you can find to gather for rescue - look in these listings to see what they need, and perhaps you could get some of them donated. Just speak to them ahead of time, and ask how to get a *donation slip* for the donors, so things are tax-deductible...that means people get a little off their taxes if they donate stuff, and that sometimes helps them deicde. Just make sure whatever you are collecting has a way to actaully get to the rescue - they sometimes have volunteers who will pick things up, but if tey have to be mailed, make sure it's something easy and cheap to mail. Any rescue should be glad to have you - here is information on how to help Lab Rescue: Crates, Leashes...Dog Equipment We are always in need of crates, leashes, collars, dog safe toys, dog food and treats, and other dog equipment.
