Rabbit problems please help ?

  • My rabbit is only 1 and is very big for his age. He has recently been diagnosed with ear mites and has been given medicine for it. He is always usually a very good rabbit, he can be hyper but always good. When i went out tonight to feed him i put my arm in his hutch and he bit my arm which has came out it bite marks which have swelled over. I fed him yesterday so i dont know what is wrong with him! Can anyone tell me why he bit me ??? He was also quite jumpy when i went out today and whenevere i go out to feed him i always pet him.

    I am going to assume that he is not neutered. Since he is probably a large breed rabbit, then he could just be feeling the hormones now. Larger breeds take longer to mature than smaller breeds. Getting him neutered should help, but it does take time for the hormones to dissipate. He could also be stressed with the medication. Most rabbits don't like to take medication and don't like to be restrained to take it. He could be angry about that and lashing out. Sometimes the weather can affect them. Any change can do it.

Yeah he was probably in pain, and if he stomps his hind legs, that means hes mad or uncomfortable, and if he does, don't go away, figure out the problem and fix it. My bunny gets mad when I don't clean out her litter box !

he is probably uncomfortable because of the mites. that's why he bit you her is just is itchy

He is most likely in pain and discomfort. You should probably get something else from the vet for the pain or irritation, give him some veggies to calm him down.
