How do you know if your bunny is pregnant?

Pregnant bunny, what do i need to know?

  • So i got a bunny about a week ago. the people who gave her to me said she was pregnant. i have no idea how to take care of a pregnant bunny,i had bunnies before but never pregnant. the only reason why i took her is because they were gonna leave her in the streets, i don't mind having her i even had a cage when i had my other two bunnies. its a big cage but shes only staying in one little area of it. http://www.petco.com/product/113155/Marshall-Ferret-Estate-Ferret-Cage.aspx?CoreCat=MM_SmallAnimalSupplies_CagesHabitatsHutches (thats the cage)

Put a nest box in the cage. Rabbits do not move their babies once they are born so a good safe feeling place is very important. Put the box on the 1st story to make sure they don't venture out when very young and fall down. Rabbits are very easy animals to breed. It is uncommon they will kill their own young, unlike hamsters. Make sure you have untreated wood so she can keep her teeth maintained by chewing it and always fresh water and food available and you are good to go. Put a mineral salt lick (they are round and brown) in the cage. Alfalfa hay is a nice to have treat available for her too.
