Deterring Spiders from your home?

• Recently, I have been getting spiders in my home a lot. I dont mind the small ones, they keep other bugs out and I quite like them. However, these new arrivals are BIG and they are FAST. I didnt think spiders that big could sprint that fast. How can I deter these new guests? I think they may be killing the little spiders aswell since I dont really see them anymore. I have 2 cats and a dog who take care of these when they come to the floor, but normally they are on the walls and ceiling. I am British and live in Britain so these spiders are completely harmless, but my sister who lives with me is arachnophobic and also I myself am a little creeped out by new arrivals. Im looking for any technological, natural or physical ways to deter spiders from my home. Is there any reason these particular "Super-spiders" have suddenly entered my home? Is there a way to just deter the big ones and leave the little ones?

  I live in Britain too and I'm really terrified of spiders - I have no idea why but they make me shiver like CRAZY lol! I Don't see many in my house but I remember a couple of times when I saw these really huge ones - I screamed lol! How many approximately do you see each day? if it persists for a long time call pest control perhaps?
