Can you be allergic to guinea pigs but not chinchilla's? I currently have two female guinea pigs one is super long haired and the other is a mix between short and long but very curly hair. Every time i handle them i get a really bad red rash and spots which a very itchy. We figured i could be allergic to the shavings and stuff so we switched but i still very itchy and red. But i have looked after chinchillas and degu's and i have never showed a sign at all of being allergic to them. It also seems like every time i get sick the guinea pigs aggravate my allergies even more.
