What to put in my 10 gallon tank?

What Can I Put In A 10 Gallon Tank, Besides Fish?

  • I have an empty 10 gallon tank I kept a Leopard Gecko in until I gave it to a friend. I've kept fish for a few years and though I love the hobby, it was getting in the way with regular water changes (Tedious as I had to siphon water into a bucket, dump it, then go downstairs and fill another bucket and bring it up. 5-10 times depending on the tank and % water change), space, etc. I now have an empty 10 gallon tank with a screen lid, reptile sand, two hiding spots and a plastic plant. I'd prefer keeping something I could take out of the tank and watch it walk around, or something that could become friendly with me, but it's not necessary. The only thing that matters really is that I won't keep anything that eats live food (crickets, worms, etc.) I can buy anything it needs, heating, different substrate/shavings, etc. Rodents, reptiles, anything it doesn't matter haha. Just no fish, and no live food. Thanks much everyone! (:

    maybe a hermit crab? i don't know too much about them, or how much space you need, but my friend has some and they seem pretty cool.

hermit crabs or these guys http://therealowner.com/exotic-unusual/unusual-pets-northern-walking-stick-insects/ we kept them for years.. really cheap and easy. a tank that small is too small for most other things and too small for ANY rodent.

you could put a snake, lizard ,hamster gerbil,typically any small animal.

You could buy a hamster a gerbil a mouse a chameleon A hedgheog but it would need a bigger cage a rat a corn snake go to petsmart or petco or any petstore and just ask them what could fit in one, or you could go look around at all the little animals etc and find what one you wanted the most. Also if you get the mice quite a few could be kept in there....you could breed them and use them for food for a corn snake or something. i also here hedgehogs can occasionally eat pinky mice..
