Is my cat OK if he has a dry and warm nose?

Cat needs to get along with dog, please help!?

• Ok my friend and i took her dog, a cockapoo who was on a leash to my backyard where my cat hangs out. first the dog ran to her water and drank (lol) then my cat got up and stared at him. the dog was fine and playful. they both looked at eachother and just stood there. suddenly my cat meowed like 3 really weird long creepy meows. i was so stupid bringing the dog. sooooo stupid. her fur stood up and she hissed and put a paw in the air about to scratch the dog, i quickly ran to the grass with the dog. i feel really bad i know i shuoldn't have done that. anyway, my cat trotted over to the grass and stood there watching us, i ran with the dog out of my backyard and my cat didn't follow us back. how can i introduce them properly and i really need my cat to get along with him because if my friend is out of town, i'll be the one taking care of the dog. please don't yell at me for just bringing him, i know i was really stupid i never really thought about it. i'm also posting this is the cat and dog section :) THANK YOU! oh and before the creepy meows she got up and slowly creepily and carefully walked towards him, close enough to touch his nose, i think she even did

  My cat and my dog do this exact same thing. My dog is really playful and he loves playing and messing around with the cat. But my cat absolutely hates him! She hisses and freaks out whenever he is near her. But anyways, if your cat is NOT de-clawed, I suggest trying to keep them away from each other. I know it is hard to keep two animals away from each other, but like keep them in separate rooms or something. But if your cat does get the dog, he'll learn his lesson. I know that's harsh, but that's how animals learn. And vise versa. I don't think they will actually get along because they haven't grown up together and they have never seen one another.
