Are smaller bunnies less work from bigger ones, and are they messy?

That can be true if the cage is not cleaned often enough. Rabbits should not smell. If you clean up after them they will not smell. They also should not have a wire floor with a tray under it. They need solid floors. All rabbits require the same amount of work but small rabbits are usually more hyper and harder to keep busy so they will need more toys. Since they have more energy they may also be more destructive. Bigger rabbits are usually lazier. I think you mean a mini lop or a holland lop. Holland lops are smaller than mini lops. Bigger bunnies are usually easier to handle because they are more mellow with less energy. My boyfriend and I never had an issue w/ smell and the bedding soaks up urine. If you're really concerned about soupy, you can use newspaper to soak up any urine. That's what I do for his litter box so He doesn't have to stand in his urine.
