What happens when an amnesiac gets their memory back?

Do wolves have a good memory?

• From what I know, domesticated dogs do not have good short term memory. They can be taught things by repeated exposure, but if something happens once, they won't remember it at all. For example, if you accidentally trip over your dog and he/she gets scared, most likely the dog will forget it ever happened within the next minute or two. Or, if you take your dog for a ride in the car for the first time, then a couple days later take them in the car again, they will think it's the first time they've been in a car, even though it's actually happened before. Anywho, my question is: Is it the same case for wild wolves? I would assume they can learn things fairly easily, but do they have bad short term memory?

  Actually dogs can remember a lot, they sometimes has a deja-vu type thing, like remember people's scents, maybe its just scents though... like how dogs can come back home even if its miles away and they can't see the road. I've never before heard of dog's having bad memories. Which is why I don't really agree with the tripping over your dog and them forgetting it happened, maybe if its a puppy and they don't remember when they are adults. They remember when someone hurts them, certain feelings. Once my grandfather wacked a dog he loved with a stick because she biting a pig but was playing and the dog got so sad and scared of him after that. She used to greet him so happily but after she wouldn't even go next to him. Wolfs are not in captivity and do the same things over and over and again, and observe other wolves in the pack doing the same things so there is no reason for them to have a bad memory. They will always remember scents though, so if they were to say find a rabbit in a hole, a year later they would find the same hole if they wanted to.
