My chinchilla is really sick?

My chinchilla is really sick but my mom refuses to take him to the vet! Please help me!?

  • My chinchilla is really sick, he is acting lethargic, his fur is falling off, and he won't eat. However, my Mom refuses to take him to the vet. She says that it is too expensive. But that's really unfair! She shouldn't have bought him for me if she wasn't willing to pay medical expenses. Please help! How can I concvince her that this is serious?!?!

  • Answer:

If she won't, I guess prolly your only option is to go to the vet clinic and see if maybe you could get some kind of alternative payment method. However, this might still be out of your reach financially, so then you would just have to take him to a shelter. They will give him the care he needs, or die. You will have to give him up, however. But really, even a chance at life is better than nothing at all.

Talk to your dad, maybe he'll side with you.

Offer to pay her back in monthly installments for the medical bill. Or do extra house chores for several months.

You could try telling her you wont have pocket money/allowance until the bill is paid for.

I am so sorry to hear your story, why not try phone the vet up first as it sounds as there is something missing in there diet..there is always There's always teachers at school ask the biology teacher .Go to the library ask there on books on your pet.Every little bit of info helps. Hope your little chum is soon on the mend don't forget give him/her lots of cuddles and keep out of drafts

I can't believe she won't take him to the vet! You should first call around to some pet stores and ask if they will take him. If they are willing, they will get him the help he needs. If you can not find a pet store willing, call the animal shelter and be honest with them. Tell them he is sick and you can no longer afford to care for him. Humane Societies take in all sorts of animals. You need to do this now, so he can be treated. This happens so don't beat yourself up over it, just find him help at the pet stores or shelter. Make the calls and then tell your Mom you have found a solution. You obviously care about animals and will make the right choice.
